Effect: Messi is back and Argentina rocks, Ronaldo can't move and Brazil shocks
Cause: Thats called Sweet-zer-landing into trouble

Disclaimer: I'm still a Ronaldo fan and think he will make a strong comeback after all the flak he received on the Croatia match...just weight and watch man.

  • What about an update on the 2nd weekend?
    I thought the Friday match Netherlands vs Ivory Coast was spectacular, as was the Ghana-Czech match on Saturday and even Italy-US was good. Yesterday's matches were a letdown: Brazil still look sluggish and the lesser said about France the better.

  • IF Brazil warm up, then a match with the Argies would be outstanding. England may be effective but they're not spectacular.

    akash: yes, good weekend apart from the sunday disappointments...still beats me why trezeguet was brought on so late in that game, but france still have a good chance of just abt making it to the next

    na shotti i think this is the best argentina team after '86 and brazil will have to really play much better than they did in the last two games to match up to that team. of course, knowing brazil, i won't be surprised if they do exactly that.

    yes brazil vs argentina what a final that would be!
    england have disappointed much, they have a stubborn coach, an out of form forward, another fwd who is played just because his head can reach where others' can't (even basketball is more artful than that)...but i think rooney will improve things much.
    cartoons are from custodio.net, i loved them and ya that ref was a bastard, racist or not.
